More about "Larry"

 Larry

 Larry,

Larry use to be our production/lighting engineer, part time soundman for our mid size shows. Most of the small venues we can handle but for anything larger we turned to Larry for his help. Larger shows such as festivals this stuff is usually included or rented however it nice to have Larry when we needed him. Although Larry is no longer working with us he remains a good friend and still comes to show and even sometimes brings some stuff for us like extra lighting or some smoke for the fog machines etc.

Larry has been in the music scene since about 1977. This is how he basically was introduced to it, in his words.

"It was one of those oddly twisted things that shape our lives. I went in to my old high school to show my old English teacher some of my poetry. he daughter came in to get some lunch money and asked. "What's that; songs?" and it just flared in my head."

As far as the lighting Larry provides for us he has custom made many of the lights that he uses. Ill let Larry tell you about that.

"I built most of my lighting fixtures. A lot of stuff in the beginning came from Procter & Gamble's junk heap, police lights and my first spot, to name some. The first set of lights I made was for Paul Dow in about 1989. They were designed to operate from foot switches so the bass player could use them. The pots were old gallon soup cans. I still use them as well as juice cans and anything else I fancy to work into the mix. Paul was most surprised that the kit came out with glowing praise from a fire/electrical inspection at the old Queens Hotel, which condemned half the wiring in the building."

"I worked with The Ticket for a long time and thanks to A.J. got a lot of stuff from the scrap metal yard he worked at. That's what I built most of what I have now from. I got a few PAR lights from Copperfields in exchange for rewiring a lot of stuff for them. I haven't built stuff for large halls; everybody does that. I want to light small to medium sized rooms in a style that makes you think you walked into 1975."

"Mainly; I'm a songwriter and anything else is incidental to that. I've had a lot of fun getting here. Thanks to Brian Dolph, Bonnie Roxx and a cast of thousands that all taught me little bits, even if they didn't know it. Rock on."

 Cya soon....

Larry,
